No one should be bought or sold. Ever.
Even if there is precedent.
Even if we are desperate.
Even if the person consents to it.
Even if the transaction is legal.
Even if the person doesn't see themselves as being bought or sold.
Even if one calls it a "job".
This is not what we were made for. This is not part of the plan. It has come about over time. But, it doesn't have to be. Nothing has to be the way it is just because it is. We can always dream. Always hope. Always persevere. Faith is the belief in things unseen.

Join Lake Avenue Church as we pray for & celebrate the work God has connected us to with World Relief in Cambodia since 2004. Take a short walking journey with us through Pasadena. We'll pray for the Cambodian people and nation at symbolic places around the city, and conclude with a Worship Celebration and Meal together!

On April 17/18, 2010 Lake Avenue Church once again celebrates World Focus Weekend. And by “World” we mean the world outside our door - from Pasadena to Poughkeepsie to Paris to Phnom Penh. Mark your calendar and join us!
"At the End of Slavery" Pasadena House Parties
For one full week in May 2010, Warehouse will have an opportunity to gather informally in various homes throughout the Pasadena area to view the latest film from International Justice Mission, "At the End of Slavery."
After the viewing we will spend some time in discussion and prayer for victims of human trafficking around the world. In the weeks following the film there will be an opportunity for Warehouse (and all of Lake Avenue Church) to engage in the fight against trafficking in an ongoing way, right here in our Pasadena community. Stay tuned for details!

All praises to Jesus for our first Worship and Prayer Night: "The Cross. A Conversation. The Christ."
The Spirit was over and in and throughout the Chapel in an intimate, soulful, and powerful way. It was a blessed opportunity for all who came to contemplate the Cross and to listen to the Lord as he spoke to us individually and as a worshipping community through confession, communion, intercession and thanksgiving. Thanks to the planning team and to everyone who pitched in!
Please continue to pray for our Warehouse missionaries and dear friends.
